One More Thing
As I was making our beef stew the other night I realized I didn't include my favorite ingredient, peas. At the very end, after you have added the flour and water stir in some frozen peas. The peas add bright color and a great flavor combination with the other vegetables. Also, I added some extra water at the end to make more broth/gravy. I salted the meat before browning and then added a little salt when I put in the potatoes. The extra water ensured that the stew was seasoned just right and not too salty. This was a perfect meal on a cold night, we even had enough left over for another meal later in the week.
